Lambuth to offer new interest-free loans to students, prospects

Lambuth University is pleased to announce a new private loan program that will be available to current and prospective students starting this fall. Under the Lambuth PACE program, the University will give students access to interest free loans up to $15,000 per year for a total of $60,000 for the four years the student is enrolled at Lambuth University.*

“We are deeply concerned with student indebtedness and the future implications for our graduates,” said Lambuth President R. Fred Zuker. “While we can’t afford to eliminate all student loans, we have found a way to minimize debt and save families thousands of dollars. For example, students who borrow $15,000 per year end up saving $17,000 in accrued and capitalized interest.”

Lambuth is the first university to offer private educational loans of this nature as an option for students. The PACE (Providing an Affordable College Education) loan program is an interest-free loan offered to students to help pay for their education. The university will make interest equivalent payments accruing on this loan for up to four years while the student is attending Lambuth as a full-time undergraduate.* The program’s interest subsidies, flexible payments, and interest rate reductions combine with the college’s tuition freeze to provide an affordable way for students to pay for a college education.

“We are pleased to be able to address college affordability with this very innovative and inexpensive financing option for families,” said Mariea Noblitt, Lambuth’s Chief Operating Officer, “especially at a time when there is a national concern for reducing loan costs.”
